Hello all, Many of you may know but for those of you who are not aware -Avaaz.org is one of the world?s largest and most effective online campaigning community for change . You can create your account on it and start a campaign/petition at local , national & international levels like sometime ago I had created a petition ?Save Rhino?. You can get your petition /your voice heard through this . You can spread awareness of issues the world or your region is facing today. Avaaz.org is a 38-million-person global campaign network that works to ensure that the views and values of the world's people shape global decision-making. ("Avaaz" means "voice" or "song" in many languages.). Months ago, Avaaz community decided on a crazy goal - the largest mobilisation on climate change in history. Yesterday, it blew past it?s wildest expectations, with a climate march *6 times* the size of anything before it!!! . Over 675,000 people marched around the world(as we saw through our fellow ambassadors?s reports as well). It was a beautiful expression of love for all that climate change threatens . Avaaz worked with thousands of organisations to make this day happen .. The Avaaz team and community played a central role in almost all the marches and events held. The popular newspaper Guardian called it "an organising triumph" for Avaaz and the BBC said "the marches brought more people on to the streets than ever before, thanks to the organisational power of the social media site Avaaz.". I feel (Community petitions by )Avaaz, is one of the online tools to spread awareness of the pressing issues (like corruption , poverty , child labour , girl education , save animals , climate change etc.) which need attention and is our hope that we can save this world and build a society powered by 100% safe , clean energy.

Hi Arushi! I just read about this too. I'm a Member of Avaaz.org as well and I am so glad to learn about the success of the campaign. It's very heartening that many people are empowered to fight and protect the only planet that we live in.
