Cleaning up after the 2012 MILO Marathon

by Bam Azores | 03-09-2012 21:32 recommendations 0

Last Sunday morning at about 5:30 am I joined the MILO Marathon 2012. MILO is popular chocolate energy drink that is known for being used by many Philippine athletes. I joined the 5 Kilometer race that I finished in 28 mins. For the past few years the FSLF kids and I ( the only representative of the FSLF Youth ) have been picking up the used little cups which are all over the grounds after the race. There are also hundreds of meters of plastic tarpaulins that were used in the event. We take the tarps down and neatly roll them up for them to be recycled. This year only five FSLF kids and two teachers joined in the clean-up because of the rains. My older brother, AJ, who is now in college also came over to help us clean-up the grounds. The marathon in our city is only one of the eliminations runs before the big national marathon in Manila. I hope there will be people who will clean up after that big run!
