UMUGANDA PROGRAM ALL OVER RWANDA

by | 06-05-2016 17:47 recommendations 0

UMUGANDA program is one of the paramount keys for Rwanda's development contributed by every Rwandan since the royalty regime . It consists of undertaking public activities on each last Saturday of the month and done by every country-person. People of the same locality set an activity to do according to the actual need of that place. Afterwards, people conduct a discussion whereby they share knowledge and announcements. When you ask it before, you are given a permission by local leaders.
Some activities done on UMUGANDA include comprise cleaning and constructing roads constructing houses of poor people, constructing schools, irrigating waters, planting trees,...

Rwandan government showed that UMUGANDA program plays a big role on the countries economy. It stated that the program takes a considerable part of auto-generated budget of the country.

Last Saturday, in Musanze district we were cleaning the roads in our locality.Afterwards, I took time to explain people about Tunza Eco-generation. Fortunately, most of the assemble was the youth. I hope in the coming days it's gonna be a lot of ambassadors from Rwanda. I profited the occasion to explain about malaria as the endemic disease in Rwanda. Especially Musanze is cold environment with stagnant waters in the surrounding and forests. This makes the region prone to the disease. As long as I am doing my clinical placement at Muhoza health center, I am seeing many recurrent cases of malaria. This is why I should never skip this subject of malaria.
Umuganda program creates the atmosphere of patriotism in minds Rwandans. Feeling that you contribute to the development of your country however you are, in whatever social class or educational level you are is a golden value I can wish every dweller of this planet. This conforms with the famous saying of G.F Kennedy: "{Instead of asking what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country".

Eventually, I wish you had this mind of cleaning your world wherever you are, because if everyone cleaned in front of his house, all the world would be clean. I wish everybody be green minded with Tunza Eco-generation.

Jean, I believe I have seen a previous report about the same topic as well, and reading both reports I thought UMUGAND is a wonderful program for involving and educating committees nationwide. I also hope to meet numerous ambassadors from Rwanda, and hear a lot about how the country is doing. Thanks for reporting and have a great day!

You are doing great. In Ghana we do the same at the first Saturday in every month but it is not very effective. I hope it works very well for you. Congrats on promoting Tunza too
