Fellow Ambassadors after a brief research i saw the need for sustainability of agricultural systems in the tropics .Agricultural production in the tropics is a reflection of the lifestyles which are nevertheless induced by changes in the social and economic well-being of the people.Observation of the production  system of tropical a agriculture is an indication of evolutionary changes which began with food collection and gathering,to shifting cultivation and intensive cultivation to industrial agriculture where machines,chemicals,insecticides are intensively used to improve crop yields.In spite the low degree of mechanization,tropical agriculture,couples with the application of  low quantities of fertilizers and plant protection chemicals,the nutrient budge is negative.Soils are mined for nutrients which lead to negative environmental consequences.With agricultural activities came the associated changes in the shape of the landscape in most tropical countries.The first human impact on vegetation which is  prevalent is the use and misuse of fire accidentally or deliberate burning by tropical farmers during farming.Apart from the use of fire during forest clearence for agriculture,modern agricultural practices in the tropics use more sophisticated machines and other harmful chemicals that have degenerated to environmental problems which mankind is yet to resolve.These problems include deforestation,land degradation and soil erosion,loss of biodiversity and climate change.Having established this evidence of environmental destructiveness,tropical agricultural systems need a change.Food crisis in the tropics is an increasing episode.most tropical countries of Africa are confronted with the problem of starvation and poverty as an unavoidable parameter of life.Dear fellows join  me to take a stand for sustainability of agriculculture in the tropics and provide opportunities to address productivity and environmental goals.Global voices are needed for every candle matters.
