SAVE THE FROGS!!!! This statement is no more new among us as we are daily updated about the works going on from the America based organisation  'save the frogs' through different means like facebook or emails or directly through the website. Throughout the world many different programs were conducted to mark the celebration of World Frogs Day, April 27. Amidst the different conservation programs all around the globe we, students from Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science conducted 'awareness campaign on amphibian species' and added in the tally of conservation effort.

Imagine nature, without any speech or without any gestures teaches us more than anything else from its silence. Thus, to express the feelings, emotions and our love for the nature we chose art competition. The event organised by Youth for Sustainable Development (YSD) was coordinated by Mr. Sanjeeb Wasti who on his speech emphasized the role of amphibians in the conservation of ecosystem and the efforts youth need to make for their conservation.

Also a petition on "NO TO ATRAZINE" was collected in the program. Atrazine, the chemical compound that is extensively used in pesticides and insecticides has a direct impact in the reproductive organs of frogs and as a result it has decreased the number of frogs sharply.

Finally the awareness program ended with the note of coordinator,"Today, its really a matter of joy that we could bring such awareness campaign among the students and local people of the vicinity. I believe myself that we learnt a lot from this event and yes we all will perform the duty of our part in saving the frogs, the ecosystem, the earth and as a whole saving ourselves".
