Recycling – My Passion

by Rohan Kapur | 21-07-2018 21:27 recommendations 0

I believe that you must love what you do and my love is My Mother Earth. Recycling is the key to environmental conservation. We generate so much waste that land-fills are overflowing. The world is under plastic waste wrap. Marine life is in danger. Under these negative factors only silver lining is recycling.

For the past many years I am regular in this activity. I have inspired many others & all these efforts have resulted in contributions of many tons of recyclable products like Plastic, Paper, Cans etc.

This gives a proud feeling & a sense of satisfaction to contribute & remain a part of active campaigners. Each one of us must find some time for this valuable service. The Earth is chocking with plastic. Its our duty to come to the rescue & contribute. The future belongs to us & its our undeterred responsibility to save land-fills.

My friends, do you know that China has stopped taking recyclables from many countries as the supplier countries have failed to do the waste segregation at source. In one bin they are collecting Paper, Plastic, Glass and cans etc. And this collected lot is sent to China for recycling. It has become practically impossible to segregate the huge load of mixed recyclables. Earlier China use to be successful in generation some products from this but the recent developments have hindered this activity. A few news links are attached:

Considering the present circumstances it is imperative that we must keep up segregating the waste & carry out recycling undeterred. My recent contribution slip is attached for a ready reference

Thanks Gyeongrin. Yes you are correct, we are responsible for our waste. If this concept is implemented world-wide the recycling problem may be mitigated.

Thanks Joon for your encouragement. Actually China was forced to forgo their earnings from recycling as the waste segregation was not done at source. Let's see if this impasse may be solved.

    Hello Rohan
A continuous effort is what we really need to save the environment! and it seems that you are doing a tremendous work in recycling wastes. With China's disapproval in importing wastes, many nations are taking back the burdens of the wastes and alarming people about this problem. Now we really do feel the immediate need of better waste management system and it is time that everyone to start their own recycling :)
    Thanks for the report!

Hello Rohan, it has become a part of E-gen members' routine to see your recycling sheet and relative report! :)
Since China stopped importing rubbish and recycling them from other countries, relative countries are struggling to provide appropriate and efficient ways to control national trash in their lands on their own.
From the perspective of environmental justice, it was 'unfair' and 'against environmental justice', but we need to think about how we would be able to get prepared of ourselves to prevent social chaos led by halt of trash management.
    Thanks for your report!
