Solar Energy as a source of Renewable Energy

by Chitwan C | 30-10-2019 02:35 recommendations 0

Solar energy has its own set of pros and cons. The initial costing of solar energy is really high and everyone can¡¯t afford it. Large area is required to set up the entire structure almost 10sqm/kw, which is very large for small business men and common mat to afford. Also the storage capacity is expensive the batteries and expensive. At the same time it has several advantages also. These advantages include it being a clean source of energy. It is very much sustainable and can be used by the future generations also.

Energy produced by sources that do not perish or it can be replenished within a lifetime of human beings is known as Renewable Energy.  Wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy, biomass energy, and hydropower energy are some of the most common example of this type of energy. On the other hand fossil fuel is an example of non renewable energy resources. Sun light is directly or indirectly leads to the production of most renewable energy. Solar technologies capture sunlight directly. Winds are created by the sun¡¯s heat drives, whose energy is captured with the turbines. Bio energy is also dependent on sunlight as the plants also require sun to grow and their stored energy is further utilized as bio energy.

Therefore it can be concluded that solar energy as a form of renewable energy is very important, essential and beneficial. The usable energy obtained from the light of the sun is known as solar energy. Places such as national electrical grid and in space, where other power supplies are absent, solar power energy has come into absolute use. The cumulative capacity of India¡¯s solar grid was of 13.11 GW, as of 30 June 2017. Solar energy can be used in a number of ways. This includes:

¡¤   Heat in the form of hot water, building heat, solar cooking

¡¤ Electricity generation through photovoltaics and solar thermal, Stirling and other heat engines)

¡¤   Desalination of seawater, which implies taking the salt out so it can be used for drinking or growing crops.

¡¤  Lightning of SOLAR PV PANNEL SOLAR PV PANNEL TYPES

Solar energy has its own set of pros and cons. The initial costing of solar energy is really high and everyone can¡¯t afford it. Large area is required to set up the entire structure almost 10sqm/kw, which is very large for small business men and common mat to afford. Hello Chitwan

Thank you for the detailed information about solar energy. Of the many kinds of renewable energy sources, solar energy is probably the most popular and the area with most ongoing researches. I can't imagine the benefits from using solar energy instead of fossil fuels and how the world will change. And I've also heard about India's rapid growth in renewable energy market.
However, as you mentioned, there are clearly both sides of the coin. Up to this point, not everyone can use solar energy as their energy sources. And its efficiency is not high enough to replace fossil fuels. I hope this limitations overcome as soon as possible.

Thank you for the great report.

    Hello Chitwan!
    This is your mentor Lisa:)

I think you did an amazing job explaining, why solar energy is important not only as an end, for itself, is a form of renewable energy but also as a means for producing other types of renewable energy.
    Nice job!
As you have well put, solar energy has many potentials for a sustainable future, yet we do have to overcome some challenges.
We are facing these obstacles now and we have to solve them!
If we are able to do so, then I believe that we would be able to enjoy all the advantages that you have listed of the solar energy and maybe lessen the burdens that our future generations could've taken from us.

Thank you for your contribution to Tunza community,
and I really liked how you structured your report as for renewable energy, many people have talked about its advantages and disadvantages and many of them focused on solar energy as you did. However, you have made yours very different by focusing on why solar energy is so paramount involving the other forms of energy.

Nice job and keep up the great work:)

    Hello chitwan C

I hope you are doing well.

Solar energy though it costs higher at the beginning, it has several advantages and in long term use its costs is minimized and for developing countries like Nepal, special financial support has been made by government to support solar energy among local people.

Thank you so much for this report.
    Green cheers!

    Regards
