Visit to Siurung: Eco Tourism Destination

by Kushal Naharki | 13-11-2019 19:00 recommendations 0

Ecotourism is a form of tourism involving visiting fragile, pristine, and relatively undisturbed natural areas, intended as a low-impact and often small scale alternative to standard commercial mass tourism.

I along with my friends visited Siurung which is Siurung is emerging new eco village tourism destination of lamjung, Nepal. It has been made part of the greater annapurna circuit. The village is situated at the altitude of 1800m from sea level which is ideal point to see Mt Manaslu view. The village is rich in gurung culture and it is the main cultural attraction.

I was glad to see the dustbin of Doko which is made of the locally available bamboo to keep the place clean, which was a great initiative taken by the village to keep the tourism destination clean. The village also makes organic production of the vegetables and crops with no use of the pesticides. I encourage everyone of you to visit the ecotourism areas and promote the environment sustainability and tourism. This place also falls on Annapurna Conservation Area Project.

    Hello Kushal

Thank you for the introduction about the eco tourism. I was not familiar with the concept, but by just looking at the pictures, I could get the feeling about the region and how it is maintaining harmony with the surrounding nature. I think this kind of tourism is just great because most of the time, tour is associated with the pollution and wastes.
I hope more and more people get to know about the concept.

Thank you for the great report.

    Keep up with it.
