Frozen II and The Environment

by Ida Ayu Mas Amelia Kusumaningtyas | 21-01-2020 14:52 recommendations 0

Frozen II has been out for awhile, and I would like to talk about the environmental aspect of it. Frozen II serves more as a backstory in figuring out where Elsa¡¯s power came from.

In the story, Elsa¡¯s grandfather, Former King of Arendelle, built a dam as a form of friendship token with the Northuldra tribe. It was said that the gift was to strengthen the waters. However, it was all a trick. Instead of strengthening the waters, the dam instead weakened nature. A negotiation that is said to be good, might actually be bad. Like how the story in Frozen II had played out. In order to have power, Elsa¡¯s grandfather built a dam in order to weaken the Northuldra tribe. What is depicted in the story can be applied in real life. People who hold power might make a negotiation as if it were the best option, although in truth it may actually be the negotiation that destroys the nature.

I believe however, that the are still people who will watch over nature. No matter the possibility of a bad negotiation that will be done. There will be people who will stand up for nature. But it is still preferable if the bad negotiation didn¡¯t happen in the first place.

    Hello Ida

I watched this movie last week, but didn't realized there could be such an important environmental message in the movie. I agree with you that still many people with power watch over the importance of the nature and make undesirable decisions. I hope this movie can give many people including them a big environmental message!

Thank you for the great report!

    Hey Ida!
    This is your mentor Lisa.

Never never have I thought of Frozen as the environmental movie!
But in the sense that it presents the beauty of nature, sure why not?
You always have a very creative way of viewing the world:)
    I like it!!

    Green cheers for you!

The musical accompaniment of this film is unconditionally beautiful, but they distorted the real fairy tale and undermine the foundations of fundamentalism in their plot and relations between the main characters
