In 2019, The World declared a 1st degree alert on the climate change that threatens humanity over the next 10 years. Water scarcity is considered the most dangerous direct consequence. The statistics are shocking and frightening, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). By 2025, half of the world's population will live in areas of water stress. In 2009 , Paul Dickson , CEO of The CDP Water Disclosure Project said in one of the sharpest climate change observation ¡° If climate change is the shark , then Water Scarcity is its teeth ¡° .Unfortunately, Our Tunisia is not far from that, we have already noticed that there was no rain in winter 2020 which is a scary fact .

At the same time, Water Consumption is increasing , Despite all the Tunisian people, Restaurants and Hotels are not yet aware of this danger and consume an enormous amount of water with a very limited mentality based only on the present and neglecting the future. In fact, According to Powerhousedynamics.com an average restaurant consumes between 11,356 L and 26,498 L per day. Given That , I have already tried to verify these figures by taking water Bills ¡®s Data Consumption from a restaurant and comparing it to these statistics, I found that it is almost identical. Statistically, an average hotel consumes between 5,600,000 L and 6,300,000 L per day. According to the NIS (National Institute of Statistics) , a Tunisian family is made up of an average of 4 people. The consumption of a Tunisian family is between 4800 L and 5000 L per month.

In Summer 2018, I visited The Waterfall of Bni Mtir which is a rural

area localized in the North of Tunisia with my friends. We figured out that

the waterfall was totally vaporized, and we just swum in a little lack. We

came back in summer 2019 to find out that both the waterfall and the

lack were vaporized, because of the high level of temperature. Here is

some photo that we took between winter 2018 , Summer 2018 and

Summer 2019 for the same place.

That was the first time I noticed the damage of climate change and the real meaning of water scarcity. You can obviously see that In summer 2019 I took the photo and I was standing at  the same place where I swam in summer 2018 .This fact has awaken on me the inner desire to change and defy climate change for a better future and looking for sustainable nature and smart cities .

Hi Amen Allah Souli, this is Sang Su Lee.

Water is valuable because it gives a lot of benefits for animals living in the world. Water is valuable solvent in our bodies, temperature decreasing agent and so on. If drinkable water is in shortage, then humans would suffer a lot. Isn't it weird that although water is in excess in the earth, but drinkable water is only 1%? That's because 99% of water exists in the form of sea water. Desalination project is one way to solve this problem. I hope a big problem would be solved in one day.

Thank you for sharing your article.

Hello Amen Allah Souli! This is mentor Taehyun.

Thank you for writing about your region's environmental crisis. Wow... too bad :( Drought must be a really big problem for your country. I can see how climate change affected your region's waterfall. These days, we can SEE how climate is changing right now. We can easily found in surrounding areas. My country has four seasons, but recently summer and winter are getting longer, spring and fall are getting shorter. We can feel it. That means climate change is now approaching and it is already critical.

Thank you for writing vivid information!

    Green cheers!
