[free report] Research - The western approach to pollution is different from that of the eastern approach.

Hello everyone! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy.

Research

Different countries implement different measures in dealing with pollution. China implemented strict bans on emissions and incentivize companies to clean up emissions via taxation. For instance, Beijing is required to reduce its coal consumption by half from 2013 to 2018. In other developing Asia and African countries, housesmoke can be a significant problem, annually killing 2.6 million people. Government incentivize households to change the fuel to LPG and electricity. Moreover, some more developed areas were introduced better cookstoves to ensure the combustion and utilization of wood is more efficient. Some government agencies also aid poorer regions with these efficient cookstoves.

In western countries, such as UK, there are developments with regard to carbon engineering and CO2 capture technologies. For instance, Drax built lots of carbon capture and storage (BECCS) power stations using renewable fuels to generate electricity and CCS is used in fossil fuel firms like  Equinor, Shell and Total, recognizing the value of building storage infrastructure to earn credits from collecting carbon dioxide.

I hope you find it informative and interesting :) At the end, I think it is important that we study and evaluate the current approach in order to improve and innovate on a more holistic level.

Hi Yuqing Yang, this is a mentor Sang Su Lee.

I could see that you did a lot of research to write this elaborate information about approaches to air pollution. Air pollution has been abated due to COVID-19, but it's still a problem that the humans should have to combat with. Although Eastern and Western countries' endeavors are quite different from each other, I could see that all countries hope to solve this issue.

    Thank you for your article.

Hello Yuqing Yang, this is mentor Taehyun!

Thank you for the interesting article that introduced the differences in approaches to pollution in the East and the West! It was useful because it certainly gave me a chance to read this article and learn what both sides think about pollution problems! In fact, even though we have different approaches to pollution, ultimately, it's common for both the East and the West to try to solve the pollution problem, right?

    Thank you for the report!

    Green cheers!
