[Free report]: How government can stimulate people to recycle |

A couple of days ago I found an interesting article I'd like to tell you about.
Russian government is thinking of ways to encourage people to recycle. A very wise decision since most recycling plants in my country are not working at full power and there were reports that the waste is bought from other countries and then used here. Finally, the Ministry of Nature has suggested some ways in how the government can stimulate the citizens to recycle instead of throwing recyclable waste away. They are: 1) Change the way how recyclable materials are used and defined in laws. 2) Free organizations that help utilize and recycle waste of some taxes. 3) Free the citizens of some taxes for participating in the recycling programme. 4) Lower the fee citizens pay for disposing of garbage. 5) Forbid mixing different types of waste. 6) Set up more containers for recyclable materials. 7) Include at schools lectures or subjects about ecology. Many of these ideas sound reasonable to me. The best way to make people do something they don't want to do is to award them in some way. Getting back at least a fraction of taxes is sure to make people think twice about throwing a plastic bottle in a trashcan. I also liked that the government includes education in this list because our future is in modern children and teenagers. However, if their parents do not teach them about ecological problems, they might never understand how important they are and what they can do to change the situation. This is why it is important for teachers to tell their students about the problems our planet and we are facing. I sincerely hope these measures will be taken into consideration by the Parliament and be a part of our life very soon. |

It is indeed imperative for the government to devise creative methods to pave the people's behaviors in desirable direction. I really love and know the power of education that you've mentioned in number 7. In fact, when I managed the recycling for elementary students, I could notice that many students did not know how to distinguish recyclable and non-recyclable wastes.

Thank you for the fun information about recycling! The easiest way to think about getting citizens to voluntarily participate in recycling was to give them incentives, and it was really useful to know from articles that there were many other ways to do it!
