[FREE REPORT] Water Pollution

by Meena Pandey | 10-07-2020 15:26 recommendations 0

Last week, I had visited to the ¡®haat bazar¡¯. On the way, I had seen the river whose beauty was no more. The drainage and sewage was directly joined to the river. Water pollution was more than last year.
Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater). The presence of impurities and foreign substance in water in such a quantity that lowers its quality and makes it unfit for consumption and becomes a health hazard. Point Sources of water pollution refers to contaminants that enter a water from a single and identifiable source. Although, the river is not source of drinking water to the community it is our duty to save the river in its natural form. Water is precious resource and without it we cannot imagine the life on the earth. The aquatic life forms cannot exist in the polluted water. Manu diseases are outbroken due to water pollution. Water pollution can cause destruction ecosystem. The principal cause of water pollution was throwing of domestic waste, direct joining of sewage water in the river, and also the aquatic plants. Solid waste causes blockage in flow of water. Plastics are the main source of water pollution as it takes more than 500 years to decay. Water hyacinth is the principal cause of water pollution as it grows faster in water bodies and absorbs the essential nutrients from water which is detrimental to the life of water forms. Rivers have been changed into dustbin in this era. Increase in biological oxygen demand in water is also the cause of water pollution. We must reduce throwing of wastage in water resources and also bury the organic waste so as to convert it into organic manure which ensures sustainable agriculture. Sewage treatment plant must be installed.

Hi Meena Pandey, this is a mentor, Sang Su Lee.

You must be sad for seeing the changed once beautiful river. What's even more sad is that humans have contributed a lot to polluting water. Water is essential source for our bodies. About 80% of our bodies consists of water. Therefore, it is imperative to maintain clean water. In addition, there is only small proportion of water in the earth that humans can drink. Many scientists are trying hard to convert sea water to drinkable water. I really hope this investigation end soon so that humans do not have to worry about shortage of water.

    Green cheers~

Hello Meena Pandey this is mentor Taehyun!

I feel bad to hear that a lot of trash is being dumped in the river. The discharge of sewage containing untreated waste into the river can have many negative effects on the river. It smells bad and looks bad, but most of all, the microbes in the river break down these sewage systems, resulting in lower dissolved oxygen levels and over-nutrients. This kind of water is really hard to get back to its original state, so it seems necessary to build a sewage treatment plant before pollution occurs.

    Thank you for the report!

    Green cheers!
