No Outdoor Mask Mandate in South Korea

by DIBYA BHATTA | 11-05-2022 16:59 recommendations 1

Are you tired of wearing masks outdoor?

Don't you feel like taking off your masks and walking around in parks inhaling the fresh air?
Here in South Korea, since may 2, we are not forced to wear the mask.
The policy here is "Mask up,get vaccinated and stop the spread".But not many people are seen in public without masks.People are disciplined and are still wearing the masks.I have also been following "wear the mask" rule and wear it in public and classroom.
Fellow ambassadors, how is the policy in your country ?Is the outdoor mask compulsory?or has the government lifted it already?
It's already more then two years since the pandemic started and after the development of vaccines, slowly the policies around the globe are changing and masks in many places is not compulsory.People are now adapting the policy of living with the corona.Because in today's era, while we are stressing only on COVID,other serious illness have already taken away several lives around the globe and economy is hit hard especially in developing countries.I pray that soon the situation of  global pandemic eases and people are able to enjoy their  normal routine.
Stay healthy and safe everyone! :)
Green cheers!

Hello, in Mexico many people still wear a mask, but even so little by little I can see people who do not wear the mask in outdoor areas, in school classrooms it is still mandatory to wear it.

Hello Dibya, this is your mentor Joon.

There are different opinions regarding whether government should force people to wear masks or not. I personally like the current state which there are no obligations, yet in the same time, most people are wearing masks. However, we should always keep in mind that pandemic is not over yet, though the fatality rate has decreased dramatically, and keep personal health measures. Hope we could pass through this long dark age and enjoy renaissance.

Well read your article, and let's keep up!

    Best,

    Joon

    Hey!
    Thanks for sharing the article.
Here in India too most of the states have gone mask optional but we do follow mask up rule in institutions and workshops although in-crowd on the street I see people not following up the mask up rule.

Hello Dibaya, this is your mentor Chelwoon.

Even though we can now take off masks outdoors here in Korea, 9 of 10 people on the road keep their masks on. From post experience of covid waves, when the number of confirmed cases rose, we have learned that we should not make changes abruptly when it comes to public safety protocols. I also always wear a mask except when I am jogging in a spacious area. I hope we will overcome this pandemic in Korea, but also in the other countries.

Thank you for the article! And take care Dibaya!

    Regards,
    Chelwoon

    Hello Dibya didi ,
I hope you are fine and doing great there in Korea.
Regarding the Mask policy, the Government of Nepal has not yet published any notice. As you mentioned in your report, most people of Nepal are also seen trooping without masks whereas few people are still using them.
    Regards,
    Sonika
