Introduction
The Rainey’s shrew is a very rare species of mammal in the family soricidae. It’s endemic to Kenya. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowlands. It thought that it may prefer dry forests. Threat This species is threatened by overgrazing of its habitat especially during the dry seasons. Most of this species are left to the danger of wild animals after their habitats are overgrazed which makes their survival rate minimal and hence many of them die.
Ecosystem
This species are very beneficial to the environment. They keep a good handle on insects pests including snails, mice and foliage destroying pests.
