Status : Vulnerable
Introduction
The white-throated guenon is also known as red bellied monkey, which was abundant in the past, but due to its red bellied fur and white legs, it was favourite hunted specie. Its female also gives birth to only one offspring which contributes immensely to its reduction. It was considered to be in extinction before some small groups were found in Niger River around the year 1988. As other wild animals, the red bellied monkeys play important role in the ecological and biological processes that are significant to life.

They are found at primary and secondary forests, usually near water or stream. They love cool places. Deforestation and conservation of land for Agricultural purposes has been a key problem to the extinction of these animals.
