Introduction
Selected Species as familiar in the past but not now is Blanford's fox (Vulpes cana). It is a small fox found in certain regions of the Middle East. Like all desert foxes. The Blanford's fox has large ears, which enables it to dissipate heat.

How easily you could have seen them in the past, how endangered they are: We need to learn more about the breadth of the species distribution across the Middle East, as there is still very little knowledge about this species and its vulnerabilities to the diseases of domesticated dogs that have so badly affected other canids. Currently there is little competition with humans for habitat, and the fox is a protected species in Israel and protected from hunting in Oman and Yemen. Some fur hunting occurs in Afghanistan and occasionally takes poison intended for hyenas and other species.

How important role they are playing in the local ecosystem :
In the Middle East, Blanford's Foxes are confined to mountainous desert ranges and inhabit steep, rocky slopes, canyons and cliffs. And they are also found in Wadis.

What kind of history they had in your region :
Ibex reserves and Al Tubaiq protected area in Saudi Arabia host the study area for this species.
