Introduction
The red wolf is a fast-running territorial carnivore. These social mammals live and hunt in small packs. The red wolf is an endangered species of wolf from North America. It is gray-black, with a reddish cast that gives it the color for which it is named. The red wolf has been on the red list of IUCN as critically endangered since 2008. The red wolf’s population first started decreasing because it used to attack domesticated animals and humans. This resulted in people killing the animal. Later when the problem had been put to an end, their population grew, but they lost their habitat because people started converting forests and prairies into farmlands and grasslands. The reason why the red wolf is endangered today is because of deforestation.
