Leposoma is a genus of South American lizards in the family Gymnophthalmidae Leposoma puk is endemic from Brazil, and lives in mountainous areas of the Atlantic Rain Forest, in Bahia. Mainly, the species lives in the county of Una, in an area of approximately 1062,5 Km2. The region where the species lives is extremely fragmented, and suffers from continuous exploitation from wood and farming, causing the isolation of species' subpopulations, and the continuous decay of habitat's quality. For these reasons, the species was categorized as “In danger” (EN).
