Monthly Event for May

Collective Intelligence Project

Our Neighborhood's Biodiversity Map

Part II.

Monthly for May 2015

Dear Tunza Eco-generation fellows,

Do you remember our collective intelligence project to map Our Neighborhood's Biodiversity? We're back with the Neighborhood's Biodiversity Map again!

As you know, May 22nd is the International Day for Biological Diversity to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues.

To commemorate International Day for Biological Diversity, Tunza Eco-generation would like to collect intelligence about the endangered species of your neighborhood once again.

If each of you can recommend your own species in your country or region, we can make the best 'World Biodiversity Map' by the youth power ever! The map will be updated on our Resources/Eco-system page in June.

To accomplish our collective intelligence project, here are a few guidelines to follow.

How to join

1. Please check the current species on our neighborhood's biodiversity map from this link. This map was drawn in 2014 with our member's participation.

https://tunza.eco-generation.org/resourcesView.jsp?boardID=ecosystem&viewID=9763

2. Please introduce your neighborhood's endangered species which have not been introduced in the current map. Before introduce the species, please check

-       Is this familiar in the past but not now?

-       Is this endangered?

-       Is this native species?

3. Please introduce the species, you can tell us about...

-     How easily you could have seen them in the past

-     How endangered they are

-      How important role they are playing in the local ecosystem

-      What kind of history they had in your region

4. If you don't have an image of the species, you can just provide the link where others can visit.

5. Submit your entry via Application form page before May 25th.

https://tunza.eco-generation.org/competitonApplicationForm.jsp?viewID=12254

6. Qualified entries shall be published in the 'Our Neighborhood's Biodiversity Map'. You will be recognized as an author of the post.

7. As a token of our appreciation, we will send the TUNZA ECO-GENERATION bottle to those who have contributed the 'Our Neighborhood's Biodiversity Map' as an author providing proper copyright.

8. Multiple entries are welcomed!!!

9. ONE author who contributed the most shall be given the 1TB Samsung Portable Memory Station!

※ Taxes are imposed on goods when they are moved across a political boundary (although some free trade zones exist around the world). Although DHL Express does offer the opportunity for the sender to meet these costs at origin, some countries do not allow this type of service. In this case, the payment of Duties and Taxes are typically the responsibility of the receiver.

We look forward receiving as many species as possible.

Best regards,

Eco-generation team
