Reserves of Kazakhstan

The fauna of Kazakhstan is rich. It includes 180 species of mammals, 500 species of birds, 52 species of reptiles, 12 species of amphibians, and over 100 species of fish.  There are ten reserves on the territory of Kazakhstan. Their main aim is to preserve rare animals, birds, and plants.
The Aksu-Dzhabagly reserve occupies an area in the South Kazakhstan and Zhambyl regions. There is a snow leopard here, which is in the Red Book. 
Reserve "Alma-Atinsky" is located in the Almaty region, which is created to protect and study the natural complexes of the Northern Tien Shan.
Reserve "Barsakelmes"  is located in the Aral district of the Kyzylorda region. This nature reserve has extreme ecological conditions, located in the zone of a global ecological disaster due to a decrease in the level of the Aral Sea. 
The Karatau reserve is located in the Turkestan region of the South Kazakhstan region. It protects the population of the rare Karatau's argali and endemic plants, created in 2004.
Reserve Kurgaldzhinsky is located in North Kazakhstan. It is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Markakol reserve is located in the Kurchum district of the East Kazakhstan region to preserve the unique Markakol lake and its surrounding landscapes. 
The Naurzum reserve is located in the Kostanay region. The main aim of the reserve is to preserve the flora and fauna of the steppe zone of Northern Kazakhstan and study. 
The Ustyurt reserve is unique in its natural appearance of the Aral-Caspian watershed, within which the vast rubble-rocky Ustyurt plateau is located. It preserves the natural state of the natural complex of the northern deserts of the Ustyurt plateau, including many rare species of fauna and flora.
Kazakhstan has many beautiful places. These reserves are clear evidence of it. It is vital to preserving the natural diversity of Kazakhstan.
