Dear Eco-generation members,
First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who applied for the 2018 Junior Engineering Academy and helped make it a success! As all applicants were so brilliant and passionate about the environment as well as engineering, the evaluation was tougher than ever. Before we announce the Facilitators and Participants of the 2018 Junior Engineering Academy, we do want to make it clear that each application was so brilliant and we could find many next year's winners (especially facillitators!!) to be enlisted in the future.
Now, we would like to announce the list of the winners as below.

※ Please note that there is a chance that we do not select the qualified participants or facilitators from Thailand, Saudi Arabia and UAE. In that case, we will contact the next candidates from the worldwide applicants. ※ Parents CANNOT accompany the trip to 2018 Junior Engineering Academy. Chaperones from respective Samsung Engineering Offices or facilitator shall accompany the trip from each country to Korea. ※ HOWEVER, the worldwide winners who have no guardian or facilitator can accompany ONE chaperone under the condition to bear their own flight expenses. Rest of the cost for the worldwide chaperones shall be burden by Samsung Engineering.
And again we thank you for all applicants who submitted outstanding applications about your motivations to attend our Academy. We hope to see our applications once again in the next year!
Trip to Korea will last for 5 days from August 6 - 10, 2018. However there always can be a possibility that event might be canceled due to inevitable reasons. If the program is canceled, only the certificate and the souvenirs shall be given to the winners by air courier.
Please note that a confirmation email including the detailed information about the event will be sent to the participants as well as facilitator within a few days. Please prepare a copy of your passport ASAP. If aselected applicant does not respond to Eco-generation's confirmation e-mail in 3 days, your selection will be automatically canceled and the opportunity will be given to the next worldwide candidates(fianlists). Congratulations once again and hope to meet you in August in Seoul, the capital and largest metropolis of the Republic of Korea!!

@Rosa, as informed in the announcement we have judged by applicant's application video as well as online points. Becuase they're from the countries where we operate, we can't ignore their application, right? It's unfair to them if you were in their shoes.

@Eco-Generation, if that is so then it should be that each Sumsung Engineering office choose the participants from their country and Eco-generation choose WORLDWIDE candidates who are not listed under a Sumsung Engineering office. In this manner, there won't be a double selection of participants. Because now, this selection of participants makes it look as though countries in close proximity to the event were chosen for this conference. Thus, I understand why @ Aigerim Marat typed what he typed.

@Aigerim, That's because the host of the selection is different. Eco-generation selects only worldwide applicants and each overseas office of Samsung Engineering selects their own winners. I hope you would understand becuase this is one of our corporate social responsibility programs so we should select the winners from the coutries where we operate for our company's social responsibility.

Congratulations to all winners! May I just ask? Why some people from India and UAE are in winner worldwide category? As it is written in “Call for application dor Junior Engineering Academy” there is another category for participants from UAE, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, India and Korea. But still some people from these countries are in worldwide winner category. It does not look fair. And it seems like you have a priority for East Asian countries. Waiting for your response.
