Female foresters Network (FFN), has come up with Webinar Series VIII entitled: "Women and GIS: Mapping their stories" that aims to flare the discussion on diverse areas of GIS
and women's contribution in this arena.
We have invited Dr. Menuka Panta who has more than two decades of national and international experience in forest survey and mapping, data collection and analysis, monitoring and evaluation, multi-criteria evaluation for land resources, Soil, Land Capability, Land Use-Land Cover, mapping of deforested and degraded areas and trends, mapping of existing protected areas, habitat corridors of importance, mapping of potential and biodiversity rich area i.e. corridor, hotspot, bottlenecks, mapping of potential ecotourism sites of the landscape etc.
She has completed the PhD with the Focus on Forest, Agriculture, Environment, Social Science, Urban Mapping, Spatial Data Mgt., GIS & Remote Sensing etc. She has contributed on around dozens of Books and booklets, Theses ,Conference papers. She has been awarded with 13 recognizable awards in the conservation field. She has also worked on different projects like Project for Agriculture Commercialization and Trade, : Consultancy Services for Urban Base Map and Integrated Municipal GIS of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Baseline Development for Multi-Stakeholder Forestry and many more.
