TUNZA: Acting for a Better World' COVER COMPETITION

'TUNZA: Acting for a Better World' is aimed at youth and is based on the Global Environmental Outlook publications (GEO) which form a core of UNEP's science assessment work including reporting on the state, trends and outlooks of the environment

'TUNZA: Acting for a Better World' COVER COMPETITION

You are invited to participate in an open competition to provide the cover art for the publication 'TUNZA: Acting for a Better World'. The winner of this competition will have the chance to attend the RIO+20 YOUTH FORUM in Brazil*.

'TUNZA: Acting for a Better World' is aimed at youth and is based on the Global Environmental Outlook publications (GEO) which form a core of UNEP's science assessment work including reporting on the state, trends and outlooks of the environment. GEO is also a series of products that informs environmental decision-making and aims to build a decisive bridge between science and those who make policy decisions.

The design of the book cover should concentrate on the role of youth in the environment and should feature the TUNZA and GEO logos as part of your creative covers.

Entry Rules and Conditions:

1) Participant must be a youth aged 15-24

2) Paintings must be done on A4 OR A3 papers and a high-resolution image should be sent by email.

3) You may enter for consideration paintings, graphic art, collage art, and other visual media by submitting a artwork (in high resolution tiff, JPG or JPEG format or if in vector form-submit ai/eps/pdf files) of the work through the link at the bottom of this page. You should submit images saved in the highest possible resolution and of maximum quality.

4) Full name, age (day, month, and year), gender and full address including phone and e-mail (in English) must be submitted

5) Paintings that have been shown or accepted elsewhere will not be accepted in this competition.

6) Paintings that show a particular person, an organization or a brand name will not be accepted.

7) A short, typewritten text (max. 50—100 words only) submitted as a Word document, explaining the concept for your design.

8) Do not include any words or descriptions in the painting or design itself.

9) You can submit more than one entry.

10) The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered to the first-prize winners

11) All entrants hereby license UNEP the use of their entry for display on any website or publication and for display in a physical exhibition. Appropriate credits will be given to each item displayed

12) Each entrant warrants to UNEP that his/her entry is original, and made without the inclusion of material owned by any third party

* This shall be all-expenses paid trip to attend the Youth Forum.
