I visited Bihar museum last week. This museum is located in Patna. It was established in 15th august 2015 (Independence day of India). It was planned as a history museum for the state of Bihar, and began construction in Bailey Road, Patna, on October 2013.

The Bihar Museum has several galleries. These include the Orientation gallery, the children gallery, the regional gallery, the contemporary gallery, the historical art galleries, the Bihari Diaspora gallery and the visible storage gallery. The exhibits on different subjects are displayed in separate galleries. Each gallery is huge and has many artifacts on display including ones dating back to the 4th century.

In the Children's gallery there is a collection of artefacts and exhibit items and is divided into six domains: the Orientation Room, the Wildlife Sanctuary, the history sections on Chandragupta Maurya and Sher Shah Suri, the Arts and Culture section and the Discovery Room. Among the exhibits are a simulated the Asian paradise flycatcher, the Indian giant flying squirrel, animals, birds, trees and plants native to the state of Bihar. The gallery's focus is family learning; most exhibits are designed to be interactive, allowing children and families to actively participate. The best part of the Children's Gallery is that kids can touch everything. Besides the life- size models of birds, rhinoceros, tiger, horse and snake etc, there are replicas of a cave, rabbit burrow, termite mount, the Ganga, Sher Shah Suri's market area and the resting area.

There are a bunch of involving computer screens where children and people can learn about various native animals of Bihar in a very interesting manner. It includes variety of games and puzzels. The wildlife sanctuary is made in a whole jungle like manner. There are dummies of animals with boards put up everywhere beside them informing about the speciality of the animals. Also, there are screens with continuous video playing on the about how animals getting in the list of endangered species.

There is a birds watching area also. Different entry arches marks different eras. The concept is of play and learn. Usually children find museums very dull as they can't touch anything. Here, they have the freedom to examine everything on there own.

There are also some other interesting sections about the invention of plastic and about the harsh effect of it on earth. It was overall a beautiful experience. I got to know about so many things.

    Hello Muskan!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience in Bihar museum. It seems that Bihar museum is presenting a number of great exhibitions on wildlife. I like the way the museum offers programs for kids to touch everything in the children??s gallery. Firsthand learning is the best way to learn and love the nature. I like the pictures too! It must have been a great experience.

Thank you for your report on your visit to Bihar Museum, and I can see the museum is featured with many exhibitions on the wildlife. I think it is important to keep in mind that we, including the animals, are all part of this mother earth's asset thus we should respect and care for each other.
