We have heard this formula to much in our life, but can we understand the importance of it? I am an ambassador of 6th SDG in Azerbaijan that is why wanted to dedicate this article to water.

Water plays an important role in the metabolism that is the basis of life. The brain, lungs, heart, liver and kidneys contain a lot of water- between 71% and 84%, depending on the organ. Even our bones are 31% water.

We need it for drinking, sanitation, food production, energy and ecosystem. That’s why the demand for water is high and rising day-by-day. Today, water affects everything: science, health, poverty, mainly women and children.

The availability of clean water means less illness. Less illness means less money spent on drugs and medicines. In this case, by investing money in science, school equipment, and education for children, it is possible to increase the number of working and successful young people in the country and, consequently, to further develop the country.

When we open the tap, we feel comfortable as long as the water flows through it and we think it will last forever. But the situation is different. Water resources in the world are decreasing. Fortunately, 70% of the world is water. Unfortunately, only 1% of it is drinkable.

At present, more than 1 billion people worldwide suffer from water scarcity. Every minute a child dies from lack of water and diseases caused by that. Each year hundreds of women are raped or killed by predators as they traveled a long distance in order to carry water to their houses. That is why we must protect our water and stop water pollution.

The value of water is increasing with each passing day. As many famous people have said: The next wars in the world will be thought over water, not oil.

    Hi Mehri,

Thank you for writing about water issues such as water pollution. It is important for all of us to drink clean water but unfortunately not everyone is granted with clean water. With the water pollution, I am afraid that we will be running out of clean water in the near future unless we do something immediately. Great work.

    Hey Merhi!

I hope you are well today my fellow ambassador!

Truly water is life, and we should always seek to preserve it conservit and protect it. It's a deep concern that children are the most affected and that governments do not see the importance of water for each and every single human beings a human right. It is true that the next upcoming war maybe that of water because nowadays less and less what is being accessible.

Thank you so much for the effort that you have put in writing this report I enjoyed reading this so much and I hope to read more of your work in the coming future!

Keep on holding the Fort Mehri !
    With gratitude,
    Ms Domingos

    Hello Mehri

Thank you for sharing your report on water scarcity and water pollution. Even though access to clean water is crucial for survival of all creatures, only privileged ones are allowed to it. It's heart-rending to hear that more than 1 billion people suffer from water scarcity.
