This century faces not just a single problem. We are struggling with diverse issues of climate change, food security, health security, political instability, inequality and much more. Active involvement is required to promote environmental sustainability and youths; a group of active age individuals can play a significant role in it. Youths, the enthusiastic force of nation play a great role in protection of environment. Sustainable development, environment and youth are interrelated to each other. Youth initiatives working in association with local bodies, government, NGOs and INGOs, in the form of awareness campaign, advocacy, development project play a major role and Youths creative ideas, enthusiastic will power and active involvement can be boon for achieving sustainable development goals.

Mobilization of youths in environment and sustainable development is the need of time. Youths must be motivated to bring and join initiatives for environmental protection to achieve the goals of sustainable development. Urbanization, high rate of population growth, industrialization and unmanaged developmental acts has resulted into environmental destruction. The development activities shouldn’t hamper the environment and its component. Due to lack of proper planning, ideas and knowledge, the ongoing activities are hampering the environment as well as the humans themselves who are the part of this environment.

Youth groups and their work helps starting from the local ground level could be the best option. As youth are highly motivated and conscious about environment, their initiatives always play a major role for the achievement of environmental sustainability. Youth initiatives like climate change awareness campaign, educating locally, cleanup campaign, volunteering for environmental protection are remarkable efforts. Youths believe in “Act Locally” and “Act Differently”.

A thousand miles journey begins with a single step. Youth’s talents, creativeness, innovation and enthusiasm has its worth in building beautiful and secure future for all. So, we youths, being the force to build nation, are responsible to lead this great campaign of peace and prosperity. We need to come together, discuss, synthesize and act as a whole standing united with determination when we make difference in the society and pave our way towards changing the whole nation and setting a global example so as to leave powerful and positive impact on the society for the environmental protection. As an enthusiastic youth on environment and Regional Ambassador to Tunza EcoGeneration, I have been conducting several campaigns and programs. I feel glad to be the winner of Hidden Eco Hero Award 2018.

I have recently initiated a new campaign Eco Facts. I have already written a report on it and keep you further updated with new facts in EcoFact series and reports. You can view my initiates and campaigns on this report:
