Starting from 2019, the Chinese government has decided to start the classification of domestic waste in cities at prefecture level and above. By 2025, cities at the prefecture-level and above will basically have completed garbage sorting and treatment systems.

Garbage classification generally refers to a series of activities that classify, store, put in, and carry garbage according to certain regulations or standards, thus transforming it into public resources.

The advantages of garbage classification are as follows: 1. Separate classification of kitchen garbage dominated by perishable organic components to provide high-quality raw materials for garbage composting and high-quality organic fertilizer in the production department is conducive to improving soil fertility and reducing the amount of chemical fertilizer applied. 2. Separating kitchen garbage with high moisture content improves the incineration calorific value of other garbage and reduces the difficulty of secondary pollution control of garbage incineration. 3. Classifying harmful waste reduces the content of heavy metals, organic pollutants, and pathogenic bacteria in the garbage is conducive to the harmless treatment of the garbage and reduces the risks of water, soil, and air pollution caused by garbage treatment. 4. Different types of garbage are diverted, which greatly reduces the amount of garbage finally entering the sanitary landfill and prolongs the service life of the landfill site. 5. The proportion of waste recycling is increased, the demand for raw materials is reduced, and the emission of carbon dioxide is reduced. 6. Popularize knowledge of environmental protection and garbage, enhance the whole society's understanding of the sanitation industry, reduce the difficulty of sanitation workers' work, and form an atmosphere of respect and care for sanitation workers.

Why should garbage be sorted? The reasons are 1. Avoid the reduction of domestic waste recycling. 2. Avoid mixed collection and aggravation of environmental pollution. 3. Classify treatment to effectively utilize resources

Hi Nina He, this is a mentor Sang Su Lee.

There are many countries that do not classify the garbage and throw the trash away indiscriminately. It's really positive to see that your government has decided to categorize them. There are many advantages as you mentioned.

Hello Nina He, this is mentor Taehyun!

Thank you for the article on garbage classification! I can say that garbage sorting is a really important factor in the circulation of resources! In fact, collecting garbage is important, but if it's not properly separated, you can't apply the specialized treatment method to each waste and you can't get reusable resources! In that sense, garbage sorting seems to be very important!

    Thank you for the report!

    Green cheers!
