Scientists warn that climate change is leading to an increased intensity of storms like Bopha.

And victims say they feel completely helpless when faced with such natural disasters.

Al Jazeera's Marga Ortigas reports from the Compostela Valley in Southern Philippines.

Climate change could bring more intense storms in the Philippines

Recently, a super Typhoon Haiyan hit Philippines and the damage was tremendous. The Philippine Red Cross estimated that 1,000 people were killed in Tacloban and 200 in Samar province which were the two coastal areas that Haiyan hit first. More damages followed. The typhoon impacted not only the Philippines but also the world to alarm about global warming. The video says that more typhoons should be expected because of the deterioration of climate change.

Now as the problem escalates, many others would be affected by this. And who is to blame. It is us people who have not thought about the consequences of our actions because we are changing the natural balance of the environment. That is not good and it is now affecting other people in a very destructive way.

This is a problem I would like to talk about. When we do things that hurt our environment, it doesnt only hurt our environment but others as well
