Protect living organisms that disappear every 20 minutes The time it takes for a species to disappear 20 minutes. During approximately 40 years, 58% of vertebrates have disappeared. From 1970 to 2012, there was a 38% decrease in the biological diversity of terrestrial life. Compared to the rate of change occuring in natual conditions, the current rate of extinction of species has become 1,000 times faster. What is the biggest cause for the disappearance of living organisms? Currently there are over 23,900 species in danger of extinction Ths sixth mass extincion is ongoing. It is said that in the next 100 years the sixth mass extinction may occur due to humankind. Eventually, what will happen to humankind if living organisms continue to become extinct every 20 minutes? Well. humankind will probably start to be extinct too after all the other living organisms become extinct. An extinct living organisms means an unbalance to the ecosystem.
