Carbon Farming School: Let's Join Us! |
---|
Hi Eco-generationers! How are you? Today we would like to exchange our new eco-project, entitled the Carbon Carbon Farming. The Carbon Farming School is one of the IGAF Eco-projects with aims to educate children, young professionals, and local communities about sustainable agroforest management for carbon sequestration to raise awareness of children, youths and local communities about the importance of climate change adaptation and mitigation to actualize eco-friendly agroforest activities into sustainable actions for altruism. This project is intended to sustain agriculture and forestry management through agroforest system, besides climate change mitigation and adaptation. As we know, the project is financially supported by the Eco-Peace Leadership Center (UNEP EPLC) and Yuhan Kimberly Ltd. In addition, promotional goods from YUNGA UNFAO, BCFN, and Tunza Eco-generation are used positively to educate targeted students. On November 2016, IGAF standing boards and volunteers carried out socialization and introduction of the Carbon Farming Project to several students, notably at SD N 2 Jambu Jepara and SMK N 1 Pakis Aji. In the project, there were expected about 100 students getting involved both in theorical and practical regards. This is the last but not least, we will keep updating the progress of the project.
