 Samsung Engineering expands its Environmental Education Program in Mexico [Seoul, Korea] June 4th, 2015 – Samsung Engineering Co., Ltd expanded its Eco-generation School, the representative CSR program for environmental education, in Mexico. In celebration of the World Environment Day, June 5th, employees of Samsung Engineering Mexico (SEMEX) provided high quality environmental education program, including lectures and seminars focused on energy related topics for 200 students at Crisóbal Colón School near Mexico City, Mexico. At the event, students were given opportunities to assemble the Eco-generation solar-panel house, a specially designed assembly kit for understanding the solar power system. Students enjoyed each session and actively participated in the discussion about solutions and ideas for generating an eco-friendly environment. Since 1996, Eco-generation School was established in Korea and has recently launched in China, India and Thailand. It plans to further expand to Azerbaijan at the end of this year to build a strong network among children and students worldwide and promote environmental awareness raising education programs for youth. Eco-generation School will be hosted by SEMEX in Mexico annually. Samsung Engineering's official noted: "It's very important to have awareness of environmental issues especially for children. We are glad to spend time and communicate with students worldwide and we will continuously launch more CSR activities and program to reach more communities." |
