I am currently living in South Korea. As being an ordinary - if not lazy - 10th grade highschooler, I might not be able to arrange big events or organize teams to promote green earth as I've seen lots of you E-gen ambassadors have done (amazing people!). However, I will be trying my best to tell all my friends to recognize how serious of a situation our Earth is in, and that it is critical that we try to save it so that the future generations can have the privileges of breathing fresh air and swimming in clean rivers. Well, for this is my first time trying out as an E-gen Ambassador, my articles and essays may be clumsy. Please tell me what I can do to make them better. Hope you all have a good day. Thanks! :)

Jeonghyun Lee Eco-generation Ambassador to South Korea Hi guys! You may wonder what "Annyeong!" means in the title. Well, it's hello in Korean just to let you know. It also means that you're safe and happy. Just like the word, I'd love to have a wonderful time with you guys while working as an E-Gen Ambassador. Anyways, I'm Jeonghyun Lee , the new ambassador for Korea. I live in Ilsan near the capital Seoul, and I'd love to share stories going on in my city. It's an honor to be selected to do this job. I'm a 9th grader who loves almost everything that the world has to offer. I especially love architecture, traveling, and of course, the environment. I have been participating in numerous environmental activities since 6th grade. It was a show about an architect named Hunderwasser that got me interested about nature. I began to work as an energy saver at school to save electricity. I have also clean my neighborhoods by acting as a member in the Korean Youth Environmental Movement. Nowadays, I am volunteering to recycle waste at my school. My dream is to be a green architect and build houses for those in need around the world. I plan to experience various cultures through traveling, and hope to apply them to architecture. I believe it's also important to spread the news about green architecture. I hope to do this during the next 6 months. I look forward to an exciting and wonderful year with you fellow E-Gen Ambassadors! Annyeong for now! :)
E Jin Kim Eco-generation Ambassador to DMZ, South Korea Hello :)) My name is E Jin Kim. I am a senior at Cheongshim International Academy. It is an honor to be selected as an ambassador. I have been concerned with protecting the environment since I was an elementary school student. It was a short story about Rachel Carson that struck me and inspired me to become active in environmental problems. I was the annoying one in the house who nagged about how much pollution is caused by doing that and doing this. Recently I have become interested in agriculture after reading articles about unsustainable agricultural practices. I think we must make desperate changes to our current agricultural system in order to save the planet and save so many people who are starving. I served as a member of the food safety commission.
Before I start updating my writings, I must introduce the region I am representing which is the DMZ. The DMZ serves as a buffer between the two Koreas. The area where no arms are allowed is the narrow strip of land enclosed by the Northern and Southern boundary. It is a dangerous place where numerous bombs are planted inside and the armies are confronting each other. The DMZ extends farther and includes the CCZ, the Civilian Control Zone. Only people who are permitted by the government can enter this area. I explore the CCZ twice a month with the DMZ ecology research center. It is remarkable that a place which was created by human intervention became a crucial habitat for thousands of species. This place is very meaningful not only because it represents the ongoing conflicts, the fissures between the North and South but because it also represents hope, the hope of restoring lost species, the hope of restoring lost peace.
Sometimes I wonder if I am able to make changes in this world. Even inside the DMZ, I could not prevent the farmers using chemical and converting the grasslands in to ginseng farms. I could not prevent the army from producing tremendous trash and the government from constructing parks that were obviously damaging the environment rather than preserving it. However, I was encouraged by so many other people who were trying to protect the environment in Tunza eco-generation. I hope for the next 6 months I could share the beauties of DMZ with all of you :))
Camila Prado Eco-generation Ambassador to Colombia Hi! I am Camila Ninth semester student in Environmental Engineering, interested in the areas of alternative energy and environmental legislation. Ali Shahbaz Eco-generation Ambassador to Pakistan Dear All I am Ali Shahbaz, 15-years old, from Pakistan, and have been given the opportunity to act as the Ambassador for my region. I had the privilege to be selected as Pakistan?s very first official youth delegate to the United Nations-CSD Rio+20, whereby I worked closely with Pakistan government delegation in addition to various other entities inclusive of the UN Education Caucus, and UN Major Group of Children and youth, advocating for youth empowerment and ensuring that policies made are in coherence with youth interests, also particularly focusing on the inherent role youth have as a predominant stakeholder in a sustainable and resilient society, and the significance of Youths' involvement while developing the post-2015 Development agenda. I further advocated for the promotion of green economy. In addition, within the context of climate change, i have maintained proximity to negotiations as part of the Asian youth for UNFCCC COP18. Over time, i have developed sound ability to interpret, and analyze fundamentals of Kyoto Protocol (especially Phase 2), Bali Road Map, Durban Accord, Copenhagen Agreement and the recent so-called Doha gateway. To be noted is that my interest specifically lies in REDD+, Green Climate Fund, Post-2015 Agenda, as well as Adaptation mechanisms of the Climate Change Negotiations. This includes campaigning, networking, advocacy, outreach and negotiations among other elements pertinent to climate change and green economy. I am also currently exploring opportunities via digitalization, use of technology and cyber-outreach that could enable a positive change for Youth on grassroots levels, alleviate poverty and empower marginalized groups. Very recently, I attended the UNEP TUNZA Conference for Youth in Kenya, prior to the Governing Council Meeting held at UNON in February 2013. Feel free to review my report at: https://tunza.eco-generation.org/worldReportView.jsp?viewID=2172&searchType=&searchName=&pageNumber=2 In addition, I were awarded the title of Readers' Digest Asian of the Year Honorable Mention 2012, on account of my environmental activism at such a young age: http://www.rdasia.com/asian-of-the-year-2012-honourable-mention?lid=homeFeed A video recorded at the Pakistan National Consultation for Rio+20 held in May 2012 , where i represented the Youth's voice and opinion, featuring me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFkEAOa6olI Kindly have a look at following links to newspaper articles featuring me in this context: http://dawn.com/2012/06/24/earthly-matters-turning-rio20-into-reality/ http://tribune.com.pk/story/389367/global-environment-conference-youth-to-represent-pakistan-at-rio20 http://dawn.com/2012/07/29/environment-looking-back-at-rio20/ http://www.technologytimes.pk/2012/06/10/youth-ambassador-ali-shahbaz-to-represent-youth-of-pakistan-in-rio20/ Looking forward to an exciting ambassadorship experience!
