To build empathy for the group of people who merely show their care about the environment, I administered a survey. Turns out that most of them- learned about climate change through social media. I was shocked to know that less than 80% of them switched to refillable bottles. However, 60% have already taken climate action. Here¡¯s what individuals need to take climate action WILL EVEN IF WEAK + ACCOUNTABILITY + GUIDANCE + ACCESSIBILITY = INDIVIDUAL CLIMATE ACTION Will (support, understanding, self-motivation, good attitude, belief in all kind of climate action, perseverance, standing against non-supportive judgments of the society, common sense, not to feel guilty)Accessibility to access green organizations Guidance to know what to do and how to do it Accountability to know the consequences of taking and not taking climate action Plus, 25 people out of 51 would join an eco-conscious community. If 38 people said that their lifestyle change can influence their surroundings to do the same, then at least 190 people could be positively influenced to contribute to environmental conservation if supported. Teens start to raise awareness of climate change 🡪 and keep the conversation going 🡪 thus, starting to take climate action even if it is tiny 🡪 gradually engaged and acting for their future 🡪 this will influence their surroundings to do the same 🡪 their surroundings will encourage a larger amount of people to do the same. As seen in the image 1, there can be a lot of causal relationships between every small climate action we take or skip. As seen in the image 2, a lot of sub-actions are proposed to make the world cleaner. |
