Renewable energy is getting more and more popular as innovations in this field entices stronger demand from all sectors of society. But what is renewable energy?

Renewable energy is energy collected from sources that are easily, naturally, and continuously replenished over time.  These energy sources include solar power, hydropower, wind, and thermal sources, among others. While these traditional energy sources such as fossil fuels deplete over time, renewable energy regenerates and replenishes. There are also other advantages to renewable energy adoption other than this renewing property. First of all, traditional energy sources typically produce more pollution, as compared to clean energy sources which produce less greenhouse gases and substances harmful to humans and the Earth. Adoption of renewables can also bring down energy costs for individuals, families, up to cities, offices, and urban populations. Coupled with this comes the opening of new job opportunities for people.

Overall, renewable energy adoption will produce less pollution for whole planet, will bring down long-term energy costs, and will also create new jobs in the market (economic benefits). While adoption currently isn?t that high, it is certainly showing positive upward trends that project large-scale adoption in the near future.

Because of all these outlined benefits, individuals and whole societies should do their best to gradually leave old, traditional energy sources for all the potential and promise that renewable energy brings.
