![]() ![]() Nepalese currency is considered to be one of the most beautiful currency of the world. It is beautifully decorated with various symbols and pictures that reflect the identity and sovereignty of Nepal. All of the Nepalese currency have a picture of an animal imprinted on the back of the currency. Most of this animals are among the endangered animals of Nepal. Most recently the National Bank of Nepal has taken a very appreciable step to issue new bank notes with the aim of spreading awareness among the people about the danger of extinction which the animals are facing in Nepal. The new issued notes in 2017 consist of imprinted pictures of endangered animals that sends a very powerful message to the public. The old notes of Rs.10 had an image of three black bucks grazing in the field but since there number is decreasing currently due to poaching, the newly issued banknotes of Rs.10 has an image of only one black buck grazing in the same field as shown in the first image. Similarly the old banknote of Rs.5 had an image of two Himalayan Yaks imprinted on the back but now the new note has replaced it with an image of only one Yak. Also the image of sheep in the old Rs.50 note has been replaced by an image of snow leopard, symbolizing a new animal being endangered. The new banknotes has also spread some positive vibes. The new note of Rs.100 has an image of a mother One-horn rhino along with her calf while the older one had image of only one rhino. This represents that the number of endangered One-horn rhino is increasing in Nepal. Similarly the new bank note of Rs.20 has imprinted image of two swamp deer replacing the image of single swamp deer. So lastly let?s hope that this will spread some positive awareness among the people and there will be an increase in the number of endangered animals of Nepal. |
