UAE Committed to mitigate Climate Change

The environment of UAE is arid, hot and humid. Desalination and concrete structures in desert pose a threat to the eco-system. Lot of natural resources are used & rather over used to cater to the growing demands of ever increasing population.

In such a scenario, the commitment of UAE governmental authorities, Eco NGOs like Bee?ah and EEG etc., responsible residents has risen many folds in the last few years. As the environmental threats increased their participation has also increased in direct proportion.

I have always been associated in such activities in Organizing, Participating, motivating and encouraging others to follow suit.

Recently UAE government has taken many actions that has shown to the public that they are serious in green drives and have encouraged public to co-operate and help them by not littering, conserving energy, switch to nature etc.

I read in today?s national newspapers that Dubai Police & a team of volunteers have recovered 6 Tons of trash from the Sea water of the UAE ports. It is a huge number. All these items like tires, rims, cans, ropes, electrical appliances were disposed by irresponsible marines or other members of public. Dibai Police at the Ports Police Station does this every year and this shows their commitment. But that increases our responsibility. We must not throw litter in the ocean. Marines also when they anchor at the port must litter responsibly. Many litter bins are provided by the Dubai municipality and disposal of trash is not at all cumbersome.

The news link is provided at the end of the report. A video was also posted by Dubai Police on social media. The same is also attached.

Further, UAE has opened Region's first Hydrogen refilling station in Dubai. Toyota has produced a hydrogen powered car named Toyota Mirai and the same in the testing phase. This is going to be revolutionary as hydrogen has no carbon emissions. Its totally clean & green. For many years NASA has used hydrogen as a fuel for its space mission. The full report is also given below as a link for the ambassadors for further references.

These were a few concrete and responsible recent steps taken by the UAE government to mitigate the climate change.

Thanks for reading.
