![]() Rwanda a small landlocked country in the heart of Africa. In Rwanda there are mainly three protected areas, which are established as national parks. The first is Volcano/Birunga National Park which is a home to the estimated 1/3 worldwide Mountain Gorilla Population. Secondly we have Akagera national park which contain typical Savannah animals including Giraffe and Elephants. And lastly is Nyungwe National Park which contain variety number of Monkey species including Chimpanzees... and Variety Birds Species. Currently local Government has implemented different policies and regulations to protect endangered animals. including cultivation of forests and trees, building fences on the boundaries of national parks, and so on. There is also punishments for anyone who can violate those policies like livestock grazing in unauthorized areas, bush fires and unauthorized mining. Although those policies have been established and enforced, there still endangered species specifically in Volcano National Park which intersect three countries Rwanda, DRC and Uganda. Where some mountain Gorillas are being kidnapped and others assassinated due to political issues in that zone. This require effort on all parties, not only Rwanda. There should be an agreement between three countries on how they can secure that area. Otherwise, this will result into disappearance of mountain Gorillas.
