Cleaning the beachby Elizaveta Zaretskaya | 08-10-2017 22:21 |

Hi everyone! My name is Lisa Zaretskaya and I live and study in Taiwan (as I told before). I would like to draw your attention to my third report. I often hear politicians? talk on TV about saving the planet. Many of them talk a lot but they don?t act. I think that if you want to make our planet clean, first you need to clean the place where you live. You need to take brooms and rakes and to go to the park near your house, or a forest, or a beach and just collect some garbage. That's what I decided to do on the weekends. I talked to my mom and dad and we went to Fulong beach which is located at Fulong Village at Northeastern Taiwan. Fulong has always been the most popular swimming beach on the Northeast Coast of Taiwan. In the Internet, you can find information that Fulong is the large sandy beach and it is perfect for swimming, sun-bathing and some other beach recreation. Every summer, a vast number of domestic and international tourists would gather here to swim and enjoy the sun. Visitors may find surfboards, canoes, kayaks and other water sport equipment ready for hire. All this information is true, but only the restricted beach (private area) is clean, because the hotel, which is located nearby, cleans it every day. My parents and I often go to the wild beach, which is near the hotel (near the village and the Buddhist temple). This weekend on October 6th, 2017 we also went there to relax and to swim. When we came to Fulong beach we found that the beach was very dirty: you could see bottles, cans, garbage, plastic, paper bags, glasses, old clothes and shoes, branches, trees and so on. My family decided to clean it up. Of course, we were not able to clean it all but we did our best. We spent there half a day. After work, we swam, had a rest and sunbathed, because in Taiwan in October the weather is still very hot. I'm sure if every person cleans the place near his home or the place where he rests, then our planet will be much cleaner even without big capital investments.
