![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hello, fellow Tunza-Eco Generation friends! This is Earth Kid Rock! I'm here to tell you guys about a student-group called 'Earth Kids Thailand' and their first project! Before I came to Bangkok, Thailand, I was a student-environmentalist who participated in lots of environmental events in South Korea including 2017 JEEA organized by Tunza Eco Generation! But, after coming to Thailand, I had problems participating these kind of activities. First of all, I couldn't speak Thai fluently. Second, all of those events organized in Thailand were for Thai students. So I was deeply concerned about what to do. Fortunately, I knew Thanyawee, a Thai student who I met while I was doing environmental activities in Korea, and after contacting her, I met Thanyawee and talked about my problems with starting my activities in Thailand. Thanyawee is a friend who is interested in environmental issues at Triam Udom Suksa School, one of the famous schools in Thailand. She was also an ambassador in Tunza Eco Generation! After talking, she told me she could help me and the next time I met her, Thanyawee came with friends who were also interested in world-wide issues. At first, I felt awkward meeting them, but I shared my thoughts about environment and peace, and I told them that I wanted to found a student-group to act on such global issues in Thailand. So with these friends, we have organized a group called 'Earth Kids Thailand' !! The first project we planned was 'High Five for World Peace', a event for the 2017 World Peace Day in September 21. We will stand on the streets with posters saying 'High Five for World Peace!' and tell citizens to High Five with us if they love World Peace. Actually, when I was living in Korea, I was a junior ambassador for the United Nations World Peace Day South Korea so I planned to introduce Thailand about World Peace Day. On Saturday, September 16th, our event was held at Siam Square in Bangkok! Nan and Nata from Earth Kids Thailand and Martina, Danny, Jane, Jenny and Lexy from my school participated in this event. We cooperated together with the start of the event. We introduced the World Peace Day and high five to hundreds of people who came to Siam Square for the weekend. Hundreds of citizens have participated in the event and have given us much interest and encouragement. Someone asked us to do these events more often! I would like to thank Earth Kids Thailand members Nan and Nata, who organized and organized the event, and our school friends Martina, Danny, Jane, Jenny, and Lexy for helping us with this event. Even though this event is not related to the environment, I believe that if global peace, environmental issues, and sex discrimination etc all become solved. It makes the world a better place. |
