Model UNEP Resolution Paper:

On date September 16th-18th September i chaired Model UN in UNEP committee organized by Youths Thinkers Society Chitwan.

It was my great honor to guide the delegates and move committee agenda in smooth way here is the resolution prepared on the committee.

United Nations Environmental Program

Sponsors: South Africa, India, Kenya, Thailand, Belgium

Signatories: USA, UAE, Spain, Qatar, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nepal, Libya, Ireland, Denmark, Brazil, Algeria

Agenda: "Conservation and Rehabilitation of Endangered and Vulnerable Species"

Recalling its resolution 1/326 of 11th September 2017, tackling illicit trafficking in wildlife, held in New York from 11-19 September,

Recognizing its resolution 68/205 of 20th December 2015, Proclaiming March 3rd as Wildlife Day, held in New York, USA, Reaffirming the resolution 66/228 of 25th August 2002, World Summit on Wildlife Conservation, held in Johannesburg, South Africa from 26th August- 4th September,

Noting with satisfaction the past efforts of various relevant UN bodies and nongovernmental organizations,

 Stressing the fact that the United Nations faces significant financial obstacles and is in need of reform, particularly in the Wildlife Conservation realm,

 

1.     Urges all the member states, African Union states and the Secretariat of Convention with an anticipation of communion for the implementation of Transparency in the economy from ?Trophy Hunting?

 

2.     Invites all the members of UN, International and National Wildlife Conservation Organization to inaugurate policies against the domestication of 'Threatened" species

 

3.     Requests the secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, in collaboration with relevant organizations of the United Nations system, to update the wildlife relevant curriculum in Schools and Universities

 

4.     Urges Member States to implement in a coordinated manner and in close cooperation with relevant bodies of the United Nations system, as well as international and regional financial institutions to aid the Countries on Wildlife Conservation

 

5.     Requests all the member nations, the secretariat of the convention, relevant organization of United nation to double check the effectiveness of Carbon Tax

 

 

6.     Invites all the member Nations , the relevant communities, the delegates and relevant bodies of United Nation for the participation in ?International Convention for the Conservation of Wildlife In Antartica? to be held in South Africa from 18-19th December, 2017

 

7.     Stresses that the cost of all activities that may arise from the implementation of the present resolution should be met from voluntary contributions, and that such activities would be subject to the availability and provision of voluntary contributions

 

 

8.     Urges the member states, in a coordinated manner and in close cooperation with relevant bodies of the United Nations system, as well as international and regional institutions for the treatment, care of injured orphaned or sick wildlife so that they can be released in Wild

 

9.     Stresses the member states, in communion with the Motor Industries, for the inauguration of green vehicles in their countries

 

10.                        Invites all the member states, the secretariat of the convention, for their gracious presence on the upcoming conference ?Scientific Exhibition on Medicinal Values of parts of Endangered Species? by BRICS to be held on 18th to 21st April 2018

11.                        Urges the United Nation?s relevant authority to double-check the Indo-Nepal treaty of Peace and Friendship for establishment of close strategic relationship between two South Asian members

 

12.                        Pressurizes to strengthen Airport Custom Security Check in South-East Asian countries like Thailand, Philippines & Myanmar

 

13.                        Encourages the European Union to implement laws to ban the use of luxurious clothing and garments made from the parts of Endangered species

 

14.                        Encourages the CITES (Convention in Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna) to lift the International ban on Ivory for the stockpiles that are dethroned from naturally-dead Species

 

15.                        Calls upon the member states, with full co-ordination and cooperation with the United Nation relevant organization, for the establishment of breeding and Wildlife farming under the rules and regulations of UN.


 


 

 


 

 


 

Requests all the member nations, the secretariat of the convention, relevant organizations of United Nations for collaboration on World?s largest Afforestation phenomenon in association with TNAP (Three- North Afforestation Program) starting from December 2017
