![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Farmer's field day celebration at the end of our Student's farmer field school!😉 Farmers field school is learning platform without Wall where farmers learn to solve their problem on their own.Firstly a group of 25farmer's is made and they are divided into groups for easy division of Labour and tasks are divided accordingly. There are regular field visits, there is monitoring and evaluation and there is combined effort to solve problems! Here at our campus we emulated similar farmers field school and cultivated Okra (Bhindi) in 3 kattha land (900 m^2). We had a plot for local practice(farmers practice),A plot for IPM practice and other plots for leafand stem cutting. Students were divided accordingly. The farmer's field school lasted for around 4 months. There were unavoidable circumstances, there were weather extremities and there was vacation! These are few excuses but our learning and our hard work is above that. Practically, We learnt more than we could learn from just seeing our notes or copying the previous year's file.Honestly speaking,We worked practically in the field for field preparations during the month of chaitra where hot spell of very hot air was prevalent. We utilized most of our availability in our campus. Whatever we wrote on the record file ( those 16 practicals )were done one or other time in the field.Though we could not come out with desired outcome we learnt how things worked and we can easily explain it well to juniors and farmers in days to come. Thank you so much Dipak Khanal sir for providing us with this learning experience 😊 Thank you Tej Bdr Basnet sir! #Thank you Caritas Nepal! The IPM training conducted for the first time in the history of IAAS was a complete learning package of our IPM syllabus. P.S.We regret that we could not properly utilize the resources to the desired extent. #Entomology #Principles and practices of insect pest management. #5th sem #Practical #SFFS #Farmers day
