Careless Disposal of Cigarette Butts

Careless Disposal of Cigarette Butts

The whole Middle East is sparkling clean and the authorities spend a lot of time & resources to maintain it the same way. It is not a one hour job, the cleaning & maintenance goes on 24 hours a day, 7 days in the week & 365 days in the year.

Since we are the proud residents of this part of the world, it becomes our duty to be a part of this drive. I have personally conducted many drives & initiatives in this regard and I always strive to take team along and also work individually to set an example. Many of my ambassador reports bear a testimony in this regard. I am regular in Reducing, recycling & reusing in my daily life. Conducting many recycling awareness campaigns & drives. I believe & practice up cycling as well. I participate in environmental competitions, lectures & have my own initiative named ?Serve The Earth?. Here a team of 40+ student volunteers, plant trees, collects & deposit recyclables, Delivers Eco-lectures, organize Earth Hour, Earth Day, Peak Hour Drives etc.

Besides group activities, sometimes, you may contribute by you individual efforts. A tiny action can create a mass movement.

Recently, when I was on my early morning stroll outside my building I noticed that many careless persons have disposed of cigarette butts in an indiscreet manner. Some were thrown in planters as well & some were on the road itself. This is an irresponsible action, considering the fact that dustbins & particularly cigarette disposal bins were just yards away.

I immediately decided the clean this small area with my individual efforts. I took a glove & a small bag and picked up the butts from planters & from the road itself. Soon the area was free of butts & I felt proud of my effort.

It is a very simple action and through this international green forum of Tunza Eco-Generation, I wish to spread this across the globe. Fellow Ambassadors, please spread this action. First & foremost these butts must be disposed of responsibly. People must be requested not the throw cigarette butts out of moving cars, in the parks, on the public roads. In fact, smoking should be avoided. I?m proud to state the none of my family members smokes but still, it is my responsibility to spread awareness & stop this indiscriminate disposal.

Thanks for reading & have a nice day ahead.
