I have looked a lot into various environmental topics and I think it would be great to look into green technologies that aim to solve environmental issues! Technology is constantly being innovated and developed daily and I truly believe that these can help revolutionize our planet for the better.

The first technology I will be looking at is vertical farming. Vertical farms grow plants hydroponically (without soil) and in large, multistory buildings that use artificial light.As crops can be stacked on top of each other and grown — they can grow far more quickly than with traditional farming methods. Vertical farms can be up to 100 times more productive than traditional fields which reduces the environmental impact of farming!

Furthermore, advances in the solar power industry have helped make solar power a more viable choice for the everyday household. The costs have gone from $150 per watt in 1970 to less than 60 cents a watt today!

You may know about the drought occurring in California, but you might not know that not all farmers are as affected by this occurrence. This is due to genetically modified, resilient seeds that can survive with much less water.

Finally, recent discoveries and innovations in the tech field such as using algae as biofuel, methods to turn CO2 into methane and even cyborg bacteria that can turn CO2 into fuel all leave the green technology industry with a very promising future! With more research and money being put into this industry we could be taking huge leaps in solving environmental issues.
