       In the biggest city on the Philippines, the youth for the environment is on fire! 20 young advocates participated in the CoastChella 2017 last June 3-5, 2017 at different coasts in the Davao Region. They had the opportunity to learn about marine and terrestrial ecosystems, participate in interactive workshops, formulate strategic environmental solutions for Davao and celebrate World Environment Day through a Coachella themed environmental talent show and festival. At the last day, the color guardians sailed Davao Gulf, observed dolphins in the wild, snorkel in the Coral Gardens and plan their post program project which will be implemented on June 8, 2017. CoastChella is spearheaded by Bring Back The Color, Let's Do It Philippines, Hatch Eco Ideas, Inc., Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative - Philippines, and the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines in celebration of the International Day for Biodiversity. It is one of the seven YSEALI YOUnified for 1Earth youth-led environmentally-themed events of YSEALI Alumni all over the Philippines. |
