Raising environmental awareness

This Tuesday 23^rd May 2017, the Eco Generation Regional Ambassador to Ivory Coast hosted a raising awareness campaign around environmental issues affecting the communities and around the Sustainable Development Goals. We were in the secondary school called Lycée Adama Sanogo located in Abobo one of the biggest commune of Abidjan. We started our campaign at 9:30 AM. We first met the school director who granted us to host our activity. He appreciated our ideas and our endeavor to change positively our community at our younger age. We gave him some of the promotional goods of Tuna Eco Generation. We were accompanied by the Teacher who supervises the German Club. He took us from classes to classes. In each class, we talked about the importance of preserving the environment, the concept of the SDGs and we presented Tunza Eco Generation. Also in each class we share the promotional goods and encourage students to consider these goods as a symbol for taking action in favor of the environment. We focused on the thematic of water and its use. This exchange helped us to understand that the causes of water issues in our city of Abidjan, and we also encouraged them to a good use of water for its sustainability. Before we left we noticed the lack of environmental skills in the students. So I and my peers decided to create environmental clubs not only in that school but in many secondary and primary schools as possible.
