This is a bit late but I thought I should tell you about an activity that our organization had last month as part of the Earth Day celebration. Actually, it is still ongoing because it is an exhibit that was put together by the Laudato Si 3K group of the Diocese of San Pablo.  The opening of the Earth Day Herbal Garden and Exhibit was on April 22, 2017 at the Chancery lobby and gardens.

The objective of the activity is to encourage people in the City to set up their own little herbal gardens. There is one particular cooperative that offers its knowledge so that families can start their little gardens.  They even give seedlings and teach interested people how to plant and care for the herbs.

As for our Friends of the Seven Lakes Foundation?s role in the activity, we were invited to set up an photo exhibit of the history, projects and programs of our organization in the past 2 decades.  The photos showed how the organization lobbied the government, rallied to instill awareness and how we encouraged young kids and teens to become environmentalists.

This week will be the closing of the photo exhibit. But there has been a lot of interest in it so that the Ministry of Ecology of the Diocese has decided to make the photo exhibit a roving exhibit that will be brought to different places like schools and offices around the City.  Hopefully, this will help convince people to become environmentally-friendly "in word, thought and deed".
