![]() Hello Eco-gen family, hope you all are doing well. I am here with the problem of water pollution in Nepal and its solution which can be applicable all over. We are glad to say that Nepal is the second richest country in water resources but again sad to say that we are the most sufferer in water pollution. It is without a doubt that the domestic sewage system is deemed one of the top sources of water pollution that seeps into rivers and lakes, which are the primary sources of drinking water. ... As a result, Nepal faces a high number of water-borne diseases such as diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid, gastroenteritis and cholera. Causes of water pollution- The main causes of water pollution are namely Industrial waste, Household waste and sewage and drainage. The other causes can be listed below. 1. Chemicals and other contaminants 2. Macroscopic pollution 3. Transports and chemical reaction of water pollutants. 1. The contaminant includes the organic and inorganic substances. Organic pollutants includes the various insecticides and pesticides and also various chemical compounds. Inorganic pollutants includes acidity caused by the industrial wastes and fertilizers. 2. Macroscopic pollutants are those pollutants which are visible items that causes water pollution. Mainly it can be seen in Rivers, Lakes etc. 3. Mostly water pollution is also caused by the transportation. The chemical reaction in water also gives rise to the water pollution.
Water pollution may be prevented by the following ways: 1. Recycling of waste products – Different types of wastes and pollutants may be recycled. These recycling facilities should be formulated and implemented by all industries. 2. Cleaning and treatment of waste water- a. Primary treatment – This treatment involves sedimentation, flotation, screening, etc. The waste may be removed by throwing the settled suspend or gravel. b. Secondary treatment – This method involves the allowing of water to pass through a thick layer of stone or gravel. 3. Control of irruption at distribution of industries. 4. Provide all cities with proper drainage. Efficient sewage collection and waste waster treatment facilities should be properly managed. 5. The use of pesticides should be minimized. 6. Education programmes are needed to inform the people in the protection of river and use of safe water 7. Various legislative measures should be employed to control water pollution. I would like to request to all the Eco family that its our responsiblity to save this mother earth so lets come up to raise up for beautiful motherland. |
