A mobile controlled conveyer that cleans lake

by prayash pathak | 07-01-2017 21:37

It is an inevitable fact that Nepal is far behind in terms of technology and tools that aim to protect our resources. Need of proper emphasis on these sector have been felt for a long time. Nevertheless it's a good sign that still the youths of our nation are contributing their efforts to protect our resources. One of the most recent work is the building of a conveyer by the youths of Pokhara that cleans and removes the weeds of lakes. This design is developed by the local engineers under the leadership of Ashok Lamsal   and it is seen  to be highly effective for removing water hyacinth( locally known as Jalkhumbi), which is a major weed infesting the major lakes of Pokhara namely Rara, Phewa and others. The design is controlled by a mobile phone and charged through the cell of mobile phone. It is developed by the combined efforts of 10 engineers and the design is being exhibited at the third engineering expo being held at Pokhara. If developed properly this conveyer can prove to be a milestone for cleaning the lakes of Pokhara. Lets hope that proper aid will be provided by the government for such innovations.
