Earth Day is an annual event observed on April 22 to raise awareness and inspire action to protect our planet and promote sustainability.  Millions of people are participated in rallies, marches, and educational events across the world to celebrate earth day.

The first Earth Day, which was celebrated on April 22, 1970. It was a significant milestone in the environmental movement. The event was organized by Gaylord Nelson, a United States Senator from Wisconsin, who was inspired to take action after witnessing the devastating effects of an oil spill in Santa Barbara, California in 1969. This disaster made Nelson realize that urgent action was needed to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote conservation efforts. Since the first Earth Day in 1970, the environmental movement has expanded globally to recognize the importance of protecting our planet for future generations. Earth Day is now celebrated annually in more than 190 countries, with millions of people participating in events and activities.

The theme for Earth Day 2023 is "Invest in our planet¡±. It highlights significance of individuals, businesses, and governments to invest in building a healthier economy that prioritizes environmental sustainability and social equity. The theme recognizes that the health of the planet and the well-being of people are interconnected and interdependent. Therefore, it is crucial to invest in solutions that benefit both the planet and society as a whole.
